The DiEleuterio family has strong ties to Wilmington, Delaware. My great-grandparents settled in the 500 block of Rodman Street when they emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s. They, like many of the Italian families along that one block stretch, had goats that would roam freely near the B & O Railroad train tracks that ran behind their small backyards. The train conductors passing through gave the area the nickname “Goat City.”
